US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a announcement.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
