The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has resigned as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This comes after a judicial decision that challenged her eligibility to serve.
Official Departure
US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, accepted the prosecutor's departure on the start of the week. She commented that the appeals court finding made it unworkable for her to perform her duties.
"Let no one confuse compliance for surrender," Habba stated. "The effort will now extend throughout the nation."
Court Ruling
The departure was triggered by a US appeals court ruled that she had been unlawfully serving as US attorney. This judgment is expected to impact scores of legal proceedings in the state.
The court declared that a interim role that did not receive confirmation by the US Senate ran afoul of the statute on vacant positions.
