The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting Against Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros securing the championship in 2017.

The Toronto Blue Jays reached their initial championship series following 1993 by beating the Mariners in the decisive seventh game of the ALCS.

Down three runs to one, the star outfielder hit a three-run home run in the seventh, guiding the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 triumph in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the Dodgers, holders of the defending champions, in the anticipated championship.

"I'm just so happy for our team, the city, Canada," commented Springer, a star of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "This is such an incredible feeling."

Springer has now hit twenty-three playoff homers, ranking him third on the list after Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another player on planet Earth that I want up in that spot other than George Springer with his playoff prowess," said Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the early in the series, are still the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Wilson stated "there's no question that it hurts" after his team's loss at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but praised their work this season.

"This is a unique group. Sadly that we ended up on the wrong side of the series," he continued.

Toronto won the title on both previous visits in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in the opener on this Friday.
