The United Kingdom Set to Utilize Seized Russia's Holdings to Finance the Ukrainian Military Campaign
The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the total value of immobilized Russian assets to support Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.
In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to come to the table.
They added that the decision would be implemented in close cooperation with the America.
British restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Russia began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, money sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had only been taken from earnings and returns earned on them.
Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were in agreement in their goal to push forward toward utilizing the complete amount of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to halt hostilities.
